Diamond Color

Color is mostly a measure of the yellowness of the stone. A perfectly clear D color stone has no color tint. Light passes through without being dimmed. Yellowness interferes with getting a full spectrum of color. However, slight yellowness goes well with yellow gold mountings.

There is an involved grading system to evaluate these factors which we can show you. However the system only measures and does not predict the interplay of all features.Diamonds with the same grade, color and cut can look entirely different. There are so many other unmeasured factors involved such as fluorescence, bow tie, etc.
